Braking Zones

Your average peak brake pressure across the lap's braking zones. Reaching high pressure early in each zone shortens the stop, so you can brake later and carry more speed into the corner.

Coasting (Dead Pedal)

The share of the lap with neither pedal applied — off the throttle and off the brake (the brief lift during an upshift doesn't count). While coasting the car is neither slowing usefully nor accelerating, so a long or habitual coast is time handed to the clock. A short, deliberate pause to let the car finish turning before a clean commit to full throttle can still be faster than an early, tentative throttle you then have to back out of.

Accel / Decel (estimated)

Where the car is speeding up, slowing down and coasting, estimated from how quickly your GPS speed changes — not measured pedal data. For each corner it finds where you appear to start slowing and where you're back on the power. Every metre between the two is a metre not spent accelerating, so braking a touch later and picking up the power sooner shortens it.

Throttle Application

How far past each corner's slowest point you travel before the throttle reaches 20%, compared with your fastest lap at the same corner. Getting back on the power sooner builds exit speed that carries all the way down the next straight — but what counts in the end is when you reach full throttle, not just the first touch.

Min Corner Speed

Your slowest speed in each corner, compared with your fastest lap at the same corner. The coaching also notes where in the corner it falls: reaching the slowest point earlier means you've finished slowing sooner, so you can unwind the wheel and get on the throttle earlier; a slowest point that comes late into the corner costs exit speed even at the same minimum.

TCS Interventions

How many times traction control stepped in — each one means the rear was already spinning. The coaching also flags rear wheelspin that happens without TCS reacting, when there's a lot of it. The car is quicker when it isn't fighting for grip on the way out of a corner.

Traction Circle Utilization

How consistently you use the grip available: your average combined force (cornering plus braking or accelerating) as a share of the peak you reach. 100% would mean always at your own limit. The coaching also reports how much of your time under load is combined — turning while braking or accelerating — which is how fast drivers use the whole traction circle rather than braking, turning and accelerating as separate steps.

Brake Release Profile

How quickly you come off the brake after peak pressure, in percentage points per metre. Easing off gradually as you turn in (trail braking) keeps weight on the front tyres for grip and rotation; snapping off the brake unloads them just when you need them.

Brake Pressure Shape

How much of each braking zone's work happens in its first third. The fast technique front-loads it — a hard, early hit, then easing off. The road-car habit is the opposite: softest first and hardest near the end, which lengthens the stop and leaves less room to trail-brake into the corner.

Throttle Ramp Rate

Once you're back on the throttle after a corner, how far you travel to reach 50% and then 90%. A quick, committed squeeze builds exit speed; a slow ramp — or a quick 50% followed by a long wait for 90% — gives some of it away.

Gear & RPM

Rev-limiter hits, missed downshifts (corners you reached still in a higher gear than the downshift GT7 suggested on the approach) and your average RPM. The limiter cuts power just when you want it, and arriving in too high a gear leaves the engine out of its strongest range. Project CARS 2 doesn't report the limiter or a suggested gear, so its sessions show RPM only.

Steering Smoothness

How economical your steering is through each corner: the total turning of your car's path compared with the minimum — one clean arc. 1.0× is a single smooth arc; higher means corrections or sawing at the wheel. Every unnecessary bit of steering scrubs speed from the front tyres. It's worked out from your line, so it works for RaceBox sessions too.

Driving Line

How far your line runs from your fastest lap's line, all the way round — the sideways gap in metres at matching points along the lap. A different turn-in, apex or exit often explains a slow corner or late throttle at the same spot.

Throttle Commitment

Corners where you got on the throttle, then lifted again before going flat out — the squeeze, breathe, squeeze. It usually means the power came in before the car had finished turning. What matters is when you reach full throttle, not when you first touch it: a brief pause and one clean squeeze is often faster than an early, tentative pickup you have to back out of.
